Narrative Writing-Josh's Shorts.

 Josh’s shorts

On a beautiful Monday morning Josh was getting ready for school. He was so excited because he was going swimming with his class. He wanted to tell his friends so badly about his shorts. He was so excited that he had an enormous smile on his face.

When Josh rushed out the door his Mum said, “Make sure you don’t lose your new shorts like last year when you lost your new T-shirt” 

“OK” said Josh.

Josh was so excited to go swimming that he accidently bumped into Maia. Maia was very unhappy when Josh bumped into her. Maia said, “Watch out Josh.” 

“Sorry” said Josh. “It’s alright” said Maia.

It was finally time to go swimming. Josh’s class lined up by the pool. Josh swung his bag around and accidently hit Ruby. Whaea Amethyst said “ Watch Out!” Josh said  “Ok Whaea Amethyst”.

When they had to go and change into their togs or shorts Josh said “ Look at my shorts.” But they were not there. He was very worried about his shorts. He had his head hung low. He rushed to tell his teacher so his teacher said “Backtrack Josh”.

He went to backtrack on the field and the Netball courts. They were not there.

He thought and thought and then remembered about on the bus when he was swinging his shorts around. And then rushed them into his bag.

He looked in his bag, “ My shorts,” he shouted excitedly. “I’ve found my shorts.”

He was so glad that he found his shorts.

Science-Rivers

We were learning to use information from the text to create a presentation about Rivers.

We created a slideshow and then we used screencastify and Youtube to share our information.

Writing-My mums gender reveal.

 My Mum’s Gender Reveal.

On Saturday Afternoon, my mum had a gender reveal party for the unborn baby that she is having. 

First we waited for everybody to come. The first person who came was Ame, she came with her mum and her brothers. I said to Ame “ What do you think it is” 

She said “I think it is a girl” 

I said “Me too”. I was so excited to see if it was a girl or a boy. 

Then everybody finally arrived at the party. The first thing we did was play games . The kids went first, they played stomp on the balloon. Stomp on the balloon is when you have a balloon tied to your ankle and other people have to try and pop it but they had one too. 

Next the adults played feed the baby, feed the baby is when you have a partner and you and your partner are blindfolded and one has a baby bottle and the other person has some baby food. You have to try and feed each other. 

It was so funny because it got all over their faces and their clothes. 

After we played games we did the reveal for the baby. It was a boy, I cried because I wanted it to be a girl. 

After that we had kai. For kai we had Barbecue. It was marvelous. After we had our kai we had dessert. For dessert we had oreo cake. It was amazing. 

Finally we all went home and went to bed. I had an amazing time at the gender reveal party.

A Day Out with Manaia.

A Day Out with Manaia.

On Saturday afternoon my family and I drove to Kerikeri just for a day out. 

First we woke up and got dressed.

I said to Manaia, “Should we ask if we can go to the Warehouse?” She said, ''Yes we should, so we can buy some stationery.”

Next we hopped in Aunty Mary’s car and drove off to Kerikeri. Before we went to Kerikeri we stopped in at my Aunty Lu’s house to ask if they wanted to come with us. Aunty Mary went in and said, “Do you want to come with us to Kerikeri?” Aunty Lu said, “We would love to come to Kerikeri.” 

Then we all hopped back in the car and drove to Kerikeri. Me and Manaia asked if we could go to the Warehouse. She said, “When we head back to Mangamuka we can stop at the Warehouse.” 

The first place we drove to was Jump World. When we got there, me and Manaia went straight to the tramps. After 10 minutes me and Manaia walked to the play area. In the play area there were only two swings and an under 5 area.

After that we were told to go home so we got everybody and walked out. After we walked out we went home.

Before we went home we stopped at the Warehouse and

got some stationery. The stationery was a book and some pencils. After we chose our things we went to pay.

Later on we went to Countdown to get some groceries. Me and Manaia stayed in the car while Aunty Mary went to buy the groceries.  Aunty Mary finally got back and put the groceries in the boot of the car.

At last we went back home and played on the quad.

I had an amazing time at Kerikeri with Manaia.

Here are my learning goals for Term 2 2021.

Cooking-Chocolate and Coconut Balls.

 I made some sweet,delicious Chocolate and Coconut Balls for my Mum for Mother's Day.

 I used chalk and paint to create my favourite cat.Then I used coloured paper to weave my mat for my cat.

Going to Time Zone

Going to time zone.

On Monday morning my family and I went to Time Zone in Auckland for my cousin Ried’s birthday.

First we got out of bed and had a bath but some people had a shower. I was the first one to have a bath because everyone else was taking too long to get their clothes.

My Aunty Degg got my bath ready because I don’t know how to get it warm. My bath was finally ready. I hopped in and washed my body and then hopped out. Reid went after me then it was Sinclair then it was Kane then the last one was Aunty Nene. Aunta and Aunty Degg didn’t have a bath or a shower they just got dressed. Then we walked down the stairs and started to walk to Time Zone. On the way we got some electric scooters and Aunty Degg went to get a coffee. Mahu went with her. We kept walking to Time Zone but Kane and Sinclair rode the scooters to Time Zone.

They were the first ones there. Me and Reid hopped on with them. When we got to Time Zone and then Aunty Degg and Mahu finally got to Time Zone. Next we went into Time Zone. The first thing we had to do was get our cards with money in it. Me and Reid had to stay with Mahu. The first game we went to was the candy floss game. The candy floss game is when you make candy floss.Then we went to the fishing game and then we went to see Kane and Sinclair. They were trying to get lollies but they didn’t get any the first time but in one hour they got a lot of lo

Why is the water cycle important for our Earth?

The water cycle is a way that water travels around the earth.There are four steps in the water cycle.The first step is evaporation. Evaporation is when liquid water turns into gas and travels up into the air to the clouds. Condensation is when water forms clouds. Precipitation is when the water turns back into liquid and the last step is accumulation. Accumulation is where water is stored like in lakes, oceans and rivers. So then the water cycle just starts all over again.

Why is the water cycle important to earth?

The water cycle is important to earth because it keeps animals and plants alive.

As a result of the water cycle moving around in a cycle, the water you drink today is the water that dinosaurs had baths in. The water never leaves our planet. It moves around in a cycle, over and over and over. This has been going on for millions of years.

Therefore the water cycle helps us stay alive.

So every living thing on earth needs the water cycle to keep the water moving around the earth.

So that's why the water cycle is important to earth.

Here is my writing sample for Term 1 2021. I think my writing has improved because I can use more interesting  words to add more detail to my writing.

On Saturday night my family and I went to gengens.We all got nicely dressed up for dinner.First we got dressed up in some nice clothes.After that we drove off to Whangarei I said to Dallas and Ame ¨ Should we ask Tom if we can stop at the dairy´´ ¨ Yes we should ask Tom if we  can stop at the dairy´´They both replied.Next we ask Tom.He said yes we can stop at the dairy,I thought he was going to say no to us but he instead he said yes to us.Then we finally arrived at gengens.I was as happy as a clown when we got there I rushed out of the car I was as fast as a cheetah.We all walked inside and the first person I saw was Taria I was so glad that she was there because she is my best friend in the whole world. Later on me,Ame and Taria got some ice cream and pancakes because we already had dinner but my mum said stop and think do you need that much sarga and we said no we don't need that much sarga we both replied.Finally we all went home.On the way home me Dallas and Ame went to sleep.We had a wonderful day and dream.Anetta

Going to Manaia´s house

 On Friday afternoon my brothers and I went to Mangamuka to go to Manaia's house. First I  got my clothes ready. My mum said, "I will get our bag ready so you can go to sleep." l said, "Ok mum." Then it was finally the morning and I said, "Yeah yeah I'm going to Manaia's house today. I can't wait until it's  the afternoon. It's going to be fun at her house." Dallas said, "Be quiet." After that we went to school.  I said to Dallas, "I can't wait until school is finished because I get to go to Manaia's house. Next we finally finished school we had to go on the first van because my mum wanted us to be early for our dad. So we caught the first van. I was so happy to finish school because I couldn't wait to go to Manaia's house.    Then we got on the first van. It was a short drive to get from Tautoro to Kaikohe. Finally we got to Kaikohe and got out of the van and said to Papa Joe, "Thank you for the drive." After that we hopped in the car and went to Manaia's house. My dad dropped me off at Manaia's house and left. I said to Manaia, "Should we have a slip and side?" She said, "Yes." So we had a slip and slide. It was amazing.

What does kindness mean to me

 

Climbing Mount Manaia

 Climbing Mount Manaia 

On Monday afternoon my family and I drove to Mount Manaia.

First we got ready to go but before we left I said to my mum, “Where are we going?”My mum said,

“We are going to climb Mount Manaia today.” I said, “That is really amazing mum.” Then I got excited. I was jumping up and down. I had a huge smile on my face.Then we drove to Whangarei to pick up Aunty Em and Uncle Jivvy. Next we all drove to Mount Manaia. I was so excited to climb Mount Manaia but Dallas wasn´t because he'd already climb it before so my mum  was like harden up. After that we finally arrived me, Ame, Dallas and Bron started before my mum, Tom, Aunty Em and Uncle Jivvy. Then they caught up to us. It took us half an hour to get to the top. It was a good view from up the top of the mountain.  After that we started to walk down. we were playing Pakor on our way back. We finally got to the bottom.

Next we drove home. I had a lovely day climbing Mount Manaia and Dallas did too
